The first half of the year brings in €82.8 million for Holland Casino from their online gambling.

The company made €353.4 million all told. This surpassed the sum recorded for the entire year of 2021 (€304.2m) and 2020 (€333.1m), the previous two years' totals. During both of those years, Holland Casino was subject to lengthy closures and opening limitations for its locations.

Thus, €82.8m, or 23.4% of Holland Casino's total income, came from online gambling.

Since the legalisation of online gaming in the Netherlands was only in October of 2021, Holland Casino is expanding into a new vertical. The operator generated €40.4 million from the vertical in the final quarter of 2021.

In spite of the rising level of competition, "we also see that our online guests continue to appreciate our offer," Leise stated. As a result, we think Holland Casino will have a good year. That, of course, is contingent upon the results of the COVID-19 pandemic in the autumn and our ability to attract and retain sufficient workers in the current labour market.

"However, these data from the past six months do provide encouraging evidence. Building a responsible, stable, and future-proof organisation is our top priority, and we intend to tackle the next six months with renewed vigour.

The company stated €40 million in EBITDA, which stands for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation. At the same time, it made €8.2m before taxes.

During the half-year, the operator also paid back €51.7m in taxes that had been postponed because of the pandemic's effects. The company's total deferred payments were €313.4 million. According to CFO Ruud Bergervoet, the operator is now planning to pay down the remaining balance in 60 installments, although it is looking into ways to pay it back faster.
